Where Gloom fits

Gloom runs natively on a Mac. It is a separate terminal with its own data, not a way to run Bloomberg.

Volatility layout in the Gloom desktop app on macOS: a 3D implied volatility surface, the VIX curve, realized volatility and options flow.
The desktop app on a Mac.

Gloom covers

  • Apple Silicon Macs: a native app, or brew install --cask gloomberb.
  • Intel Macs: the browser version, no account needed.
  • Linux: the terminal app. Ghostty, Kitty or WezTerm draw charts best.
  • Windows 11 x64: a desktop installer.

Gloom does not cover

  • Bloomberg's data, news or chat.
  • A desktop app for Intel Macs.
  • An iPad app. The browser version is untested there.
  • Brokers and local plugins in the browser version.
