Catalysts and litigation

CATL and LITI: clinical, regulatory and legal events, deadlines, source evidence and retained revisions.

CATL opens the catalyst calendar across companies. CATL PFE filters to a company. LITI AAPL opens linked litigation and competition proceedings. Both functions are Pro, with a free preview of three events and the current evidence for a selected event. Full histories and catalyst alerts require Pro.

Filter the calendar by event type, agency, country, sector or company. Upcoming deadlines and effective dates remain separate from announcement dates. Selecting an event opens its source evidence and revision history. The default calendar shows actions from the last 30 days and upcoming actions. The Changes view shows recent material changes observed by Gloom, including trial status, enrollment, completion dates and results updates. A newly collected historical announcement stays in the archive; it does not appear as new activity. Company-link and opinion updates do not count as status changes.

Dates and revisions

Calendar lists, coverage counts and filter choices may reuse a stored-data read for up to 30 seconds. The list retains its original as-of timestamp. Event details and the revision-change feed read current stored data; refreshing a view does not start collection.

Dates preserve the precision supplied by the source. A completion month such as 2027-03 is a month, not an appointment on March 1. Month and year filters match the corresponding date interval. Announced, effective and deadline dates describe different events and can all appear on one record. An estimated clinical completion date is not a scheduled results announcement or approval date.

Set an explicit date range to browse older records. EMA catalogue refresh timestamps alone do not make an old medicine decision recent. Coverage totals include retained relevant history and are not counts of new activity.

Gloom retains immutable revisions with observation timestamps and links to their predecessors. Refreshing an unchanged record updates its last-seen timestamp at most daily without generating another revision. First observations establish the collection baseline; they do not reconstruct status changes that occurred before collection began. Separate agencies' records can describe the same proceeding and retain their own identities and evidence.

Which notices appear

Federal Register coverage selects market-relevant rules, proposed rules and notices. It combines agency and subject: FDA drugs and devices, FTC competition and consumer protection, DOJ antitrust, SEC securities markets, FCC communications, FERC/DOE energy, USTR trade measures, BIS/Commerce export controls and tariffs, and Treasury/OFAC financial restrictions and sanctions. FAA, NHTSA and EPA rules also require a named docket or regulation identifier, an effective or comment date, and an explicit sector or company subject.

Information-collection notices, routine permits, pre-application scoping, charter renewals and internal governance notices are excluded. Agency names alone do not establish relevance. These rules also filter previously collected records. Selection does not predict price impact or provide exhaustive Federal Register coverage.

FDA advisory entries are actual committee or device-panel meetings with explicit dates. The calendar uses the meeting date, while the publication date and any comment cutoff remain separate. Renewals, nominations, fee consultations, cancellations and amendment-only notices without a meeting date do not appear as meetings. A dated amendment announcing a real meeting can remain eligible. Committee and product/topic descriptions come from the notice; an unspecified product stays unknown. Multi-day meetings use their first explicit day.

Records retain the primary document URL, agency, jurisdiction, language, observation time, source publication date when available, confidence and source identifiers. Quotes must match the fetched source after Unicode and whitespace normalization. Evidence is retained with the revision that used it. Source categories describe the filing or official data record; any inferred event classification or expected impact appears separately as a Model opinion, with its own quote, confidence and timestamp. Missing opinions do not imply neutral impact.

The database keeps compact event facts and literal evidence quotes, with bounded context for the current record. Full HTML, study records and documents remain at their primary-source URLs. Older revisions retain their quotes and facts after their extra context expires; operational logs are pruned separately from event history.

Company links use the shared corporate entity registry, explicit identifiers and unambiguous trusted aliases. Equivalent legal abbreviations such as Ltd/Limited can match an existing trusted alias; changing a legal form or inferring a parent from a similar name is not allowed. A subsidiary links to a listed parent only through a verified alias or identifier relationship. Unresolved or ambiguous parties remain visible without a ticker. Corporate links do not imply that the proceeding is financially material. A complaint, investigation, recall or complete response letter is not a finding of liability or a final rejection of every product from that company.

Coverage depends on public disclosures. Private second requests, nonpublic regulatory correspondence, sealed dockets and undisclosed company target dates cannot be included. ClinicalTrials.gov includes international studies; agency jurisdiction and the locations of trial sites are separate concepts. Country filters describe the event's jurisdiction, not every country in which an affected company operates. Source availability and collection state accompany the data; a failed source leaves its last good records available. Status reports a safe HTTP code, parser or transport error class when known.

REST and MCP

The app reads stored data. Opening or refreshing a pane never starts a source crawl or an extraction request.

Calendar queries support symbol, type, agency, country, sector, status, source, search, from, to, dateField, upcoming, changed, limit and offset. dateField accepts announced, effective, deadline, observed or any. Dates use YYYY-MM-DD; page sizes are capped at 200. Free pagination always returns the first preview page.

For the change feed, keep the initial since timestamp and persist nextCursor. Follow hasMore before waiting for the next poll. Stable revision IDs deduplicate overlapping reads and distinguish changes from the same source event. Catalyst alerts use this feed while the terminal or desktop app is running; they do not add mobile push delivery.

MCP exposes market.catalysts, company.litigation, catalysts.event and catalysts.changes through the existing Gloom Pro entitlement. Responses retain original source URLs and revision evidence. Use market.search to resolve an ambiguous ticker before requesting company-specific events.
