Perpetual history

PERP: cloud funding, open interest, premium history and evidence for one perpetual contract.

PERP BTC opens Bitcoin perpetual history. An exact identifier such as PERP hyperliquid:xyz:TSLA selects one venue contract. The built-in cloud function has History and Evidence views. The live market board, rankings and trading belong to a separate plugin.

History charts funding, open interest and mark/oracle premium from stored observations, with available hourly price candles and settled funding. Evidence carries source links, observation dates, confidence, quality flags and available corrections. DES and quote cards link to related perpetuals where the underlying share identity is mapped. Pro provides history and revision evidence; free users can inspect the latest observation.

Units and interpretation

Funding retains its actual interval and basis: current, last-paid or continuous. Positive funding means longs pay shorts. The eight-hour equivalent is rate × 8 / interval hours; simple APR is rate × 8760 / interval hours. APR is neither compounded nor a forecast. Predicted funding retains its own interval and is omitted if its source timestamp is stale.

Oracle premium is (mark / oracle) - 1. The venue's own premium measure is kept separately. OI in base units and OI valued in USD are distinct: a price rise can increase USD OI without additional contracts. Bundle contracts retain their multiplier; the price per underlying unit is mark divided by multiplier. Dollar-stablecoin notional assumes parity, disclosed in evidence.

Equity rows compare a perp with the underlying's dated last regular-session close where available. Closed-market premium stays unavailable when identity, units, currency, session state or a usable close is missing. International and private synthetic contracts do not inherit a stock quote from a similar name.

Collection, coverage and revisions

The enabled source is Hyperliquid's public API: its default universe and every discoverable HIP-3 dex, including delisted instruments. The local October 3 evaluation found 533 definitions and 330 active contracts across 11 dexes. The active set included crypto, equities, indices, energy, metals and FX; unclassified synthetic instruments retain an explicit unknown classification.

Discovery and latest observations refresh approximately every minute. Durable history samples each venue's ten largest markets by USD OI every five minutes, the next forty every fifteen minutes and the remaining markets hourly, across all its dexes. New markets start history immediately. Sampled detail lasts 30 days, hourly history through 400 days and daily history thereafter. Rollups retain the last actual observation, observation boundaries and sample count. Settled funding initially backfills up to a year and hourly candles use the venue's available recent history. Corrections retain superseded evidence subject to the stated snapshot retention.

OI history starts when Gloom observes a market. Funding and candles cannot reconstruct earlier OI. One-hour and 24-hour OI changes require a real prior observation within five minutes of the target, using a separate bounded rolling OI cache sampled every five minutes. Until enough observations exist, the view reports that history is collecting rather than inventing a baseline.

Binance, Bybit, OKX, Deribit, Coinbase International, Kraken and dYdX adapters remain disabled pending redistribution review or permission. Public API access alone does not establish redistribution rights. No trading or wallet operation is part of this cloud dataset.

The REST API serves /cloud/perps/board, /history?marketId=..., /rankings, /compare?baseAsset=..., /market?marketId=... and /equity/:symbol. Those shared endpoints support plugin clients even though the built-in function focuses on one market's history. REST rates, premiums and changes are fractions. MCP exposes perps.board, perps.history, perps.rankings and perps.compare with provenance.

Pro research alerts can monitor eight-hour funding, 24-hour coin OI change, oracle premium or closed-market premium. They use the existing baseline, crossing and cooldown rules; missing or stale observations do not trigger.
